Growing Vandaceous Orchids:
Temperature: Vandaceous orchids will continue in active growth anytime of the year with warm temps and high humidity. Vandas can grow with temps 50-95 degrees.
Light: Bright, filtered light is ideal!
Air Movement: Air movement around the leaves and roots is beneficial, but avoid allowing roots to dry out for too long due to air movement. Restrict air movement in colder temps.
Water: On hot and sunny days, watering 2 times a day (morning and later afternoon) would be beneficial. Try to avoid watering at the hottest part of the day. Watering once a day in the cooler season is sufficient. Be sure to water enough that you see the roots hydrating.
Food: We recommend dyna-gro products, which we carry. Once a week feedings are great. Alternate your feeds with Foliage Pro (9-3-6) and Bloom (3-12-6) and flush with water thoroughly periodically to help remove built up salts.
