You will receive a vanda orchid (as seen in pictures- hanging in a plastic, wooden, or clay basket). Variety will vary. Colors are typically in the purple or pink family. On occasion we will have yellows, oranges and/or whites. Please feel free to request those colors in extra request box, but we cannot guarantee the color or variety on a daily basis. We send along a care instruction sheet with every delivery so the recipient knows how to care for his/her orchid. Vandas are wonderful growers in Florida! They love humidity! They prefer a bright, filtered light to bloom!

This means as bright as you can get it with it still protected from direct sun on the leaves at the hottest part of the day. Many varieties can bloom multiple times a year for a glorious show of blooms throughout the year! You can’t over water them! They like to dry out quickly between waterings and that is why they are grown bare root and hanging. When watering, you want to make sure the roots get nice and hydrated by hosing them down, soaking them in some water ( with orchid food, preferably), and/or in your sink. Watering thoroughly means that you will see the roots turn a bright green. That is your cue they are hydrated. Vandas are a wonderful addition to your orchid collection!
